Micah accepted the call of God to preach in 1995 while a member of Zion Road Baptist Church and later served as assistant pastor for one year before being called to pastor the church in August of 1998.  Licensed and ordained by the church’s founder Rev. Edward Downs, Micah strives to keep the traditions of the church alive while also moving forward as the Lord leads.

Micah and Marisa were married September 20, 1997 and have been blessed by the lord with a daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter Savannah Piercy Fleming, Landyn Fleming, and Braylee Fleming and a son Luke Piercy. Both lifelong citizens of Morganton, NC, Micah & Marisa seek to bloom where God has planted them – Zion Road Baptist Church.

We believe the bible is the living word of Almighty God and is holy and perfect.  It is the only foundation upon which our lives and the church must be built if we are going to be able to stand.” 

Micah & Marisa love good Bluegrass Gospel and Southern Gospel music and will take advantage of most any opportunity to pick and grin with family and friends.  They have one CD which features Luke and Savannah, who have grown up to be incredibly talented musicians.

Chris Willis answered the call to preach in 2018 and was ordained in 2019 under Pastor Micah Piercy. He serves as Assistant Pastor and pianist at Zion Road Baptist Church, with a heart to preach the gospel in truth and see souls saved. Chris is passionate about discipling others through both word and example.

He and his wife Lisa were married in 2004 and are blessed with three children: Tyler, Cole, and Paisleigh. Together their family serves in music, evangelism, and local nursing home ministry through The Willis Family Ministry.
